A Quality Policy is the requirement of any formalised Quality Management System (QMS). The policy needs to support the strategic direction of an organisation and provide a framework for setting the company objectives.
The Quality Policy is typically about one A4 page in length and need to be aligned with the organisations mission and strategic direction. Senior Management, or a representative from there, need to review and approve the Quality Policy prior to it being published. Good practice includes having the policy signed and dated.
Another aspect of the Quality Policy is, that it is used to communicate the organisations commitments to quality to it employees, customers, clients and other interested parties.
A lot of companies will make their Quality Policy publicly available on their website and communicate it internally through employee inductions, briefings and on notice boards.
For any organisation who has implemented a Quality Management System (QMS) that need to be ISO 9001 certified, then a documented Quality Policy is one of the requirements to get certified.
The content in the policy should set the framework for the objectives to drive continual improvement. These objectives will become part of the organisations goals and good practice is to incorporate elements of these into employee’s annual goals.
This policy can be purchased individually or as part of a package. If you are implementing a management system based on one or more of the main ISO standards, then our management system packages might be more cost effective.
Our standard management system packages cover a combination of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and ISO 45001. However, additional standards can easily be included if needed.
